MCP for Looply

Connect in four steps

   Find "Connectors" or "MCP servers" in your AI tool

   Most AI assistants that support MCP (Claude, ChatGPT, and others) have a settings screen for adding a custom connector or remote MCP server.

   Paste the Looply address

   Give it this address: https://looply.com.au/api/mcp

   Sign in and approve

   Your AI tool opens Looply's sign-in and consent page in your browser. Sign in as yourself, check what it's asking to do, and approve. Nothing happens on your account until you do this.

   Ask it something

   Try "Find Street Libraries near Parramatta" or "Is there a copy of Dune on a shelf nearby?" -- your AI tool now calls Looply directly to answer.

What it can do

  Find Street Library book-sharing boxes near a place in Australia. Returns name, suburb, distance and a link to each one's page. Needs a postcode, suburb, or lat/lng -- pass at least one.

• search_booksNo sign-in needed

  Search for a book (by title or author) currently sitting on a Street Library shelf, optionally narrowed to near a place. Returns which shelf has it and a link.

• search_garage_salesNo sign-in needed

  Find upcoming or currently-running garage sales near a place in Australia.

• search_classifiedsNo sign-in needed

  Search free-to-a-good-home and for-sale items (toys, clothing, furniture, cookware) near a place in Australia.

• get_my_profileNeeds your approval

  The connected Looply member's own profile: name, credit balance, and books shared.

• list_my_followed_librariesNeeds your approval

  The Street Libraries the connected member currently follows.

• follow_street_libraryNeeds your approval

  Follow a Street Library on the connected member's behalf, by its id (from search_street_libraries).

• unfollow_street_libraryNeeds your approval

  Stop following a Street Library on the connected member's behalf.
